Flights increase between Kuwait, Egypt reflects deep-rooted ties

Kuwait and Egypt share strong touristic relations with the increasing numbers of flights exchanged between the two countries.
A survey done by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday showed that there are no less than 35 flights carried out between Kuwait International Airport and different Egyptian airports by Kuwait Airways, EgyptAir, Air Cairo, Nile Air, Jazeera Airways and other Arab air companies.
Among the most visited destinations in Egypt are Cairo, Alexandria, Assiut, Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor and Sohag, with increasing demands by citizens of both countries, KUNA said.
The rate of Kuwaiti tourists in Egypt has recently increased, especially during the holiday seasons, since the country regained its peace and security with Al-Sisi’s regime, official at a local travel agency Hassan Abdullatif told KUNA.
Abdullatif also noted that among those continuously travelling to the country are thousands of Kuwaitis studying in Egypt, as well as Egyptians living in Kuwait, which are estimated at over 500,000.
The most visited Egyptian city by Kuwaitis is Sharm El-Sheikh for its beautiful beaches overlooking the red sea and the luxurious resorts suitable for all family members, said Abdullatif.
In the same context, a report released by Al-Jazeera Airways regarding its operational perofrmance in september 2014 showed that the number of passengers who flew to different Egyptian cities had increased by 18 percent, compared to the same period in 2013, while its market share rose by nine percent on the Kuwait-Sohag route.
Meanwhile, a number of Kuwaiti tourists said that they visit Egypt on a regular basis for its nice weather, beaches, water activities and nightlife.
Egypt has been attracting large numbers of tourists from all over the world, since it enjoys a rich ancient history and was the cradle of several old civilizations.
The country is also the land of the Pharaohs, attracting tourists to visit the famous Pyramids, the Sphinx and many more historical monuments of that era.
