Etisalat launches new Tier III Data Centre in Abu Dhabi

Etisalat announced today the launch of its new Tier III Data Centre in Abu Dhabi that will meet the region’s rapidly growing demand for advanced data and managed services, and will leverage the U.A.E.’s strategic position as a dynamic business hub connecting the East to the West.

The new data centre has received Uptime Institute Tier III Certification, which is testament of superior design and high availability. The Uptime data centre tier standards are a standardised methodology are used to determine availability in a facility.

Etisalat’s CEO, Saleh Al Abdooli said, “Etisalat has witnessed a rise in demand for data centre services backed by reliable connectivity solutions. Furthermore, the U.A.E. has recently acquired the status of an emerging market reflecting broader opportunities for global investors. To support the U.A.E.’s growth and meet the hosting needs of local and regional businesses and service providers, Etisalat is investing in setting up more reliable data centres across the country.” The Tier III Data Centre has been built to serve the needs of regional businesses looking to host their mission-critical systems in a secure and highly available environment. It is designed to provide a fault-tolerant environment to safely store and access critical data and IT equipment and has a high power density and redundancy at all levels.

The data centre will also bolster Etisalat’s position in the region as a leader in hosting services. It will offer the entire range of hosting and cloud services including Web Hosting, Collocation, Hot Seats, Storage-as-a-Service, Backup-as-a-Service, DR-as-a-Service, Managed Services and all types of cloud computing (public, private and hybrid).
