The Dubai Events Insurance Committee announced it has completed all procedures to secure the New Year 2022 celebrations, based on a smart plan set by the Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to reduce traffic jam via smart monitoring roads with 10,000 cameras.
The committee clarified that the traffic and visitors’ movement in the city will be managed through the Unified Control Centre of the RTA.
Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department for the Security of Organisations, Facilities and Emergencies, Chairman of the Events Insurance Committee in Dubai, said the Committee set a unified security plan to secure the tourist areas, commercial centres and traffic during the New Year 2022.
Al Ghaithi added the committee put all human and technical capabilities to provide comfort and smooth movement for all visitors in the exhibition areas.
He stressed the need to adhere to precautionary measures, wear face masks in closed and open areas, besides adherence to physical distancing.
He pointed out that Dubai Police impose a fine of Dhs3000 on any person who does not adhere to the precautionary measures.
Engineer Maitha Bin Uday, Executive Director of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, affirmed that traffic and mobility would be managed during the New Year celebrations from the Unified Control Centre. She pointed out that there will be work teams of the RTA, the General Command of Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and Emaar Properties, at the unified control centre to follow up and organise traffic and the movement of visitors in various vital areas of Dubai, especially in the Burj Khalifa area.
