The Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games marked more than a sporting milestone

The Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games aren’t just a competition; they marked a breakthrough moment with the integration of AI technology.
At the opening ceremony, AiMOGAhumanoid robot ‘Mornine’ and AiMOGArobot dogs ‘Argos’ made a stunning entrance, immediately capturing the attention of athletes, officials, and spectators. Their lifelike movements and friendly interactions quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the Games.
Before his opening remarks, Asian Paralympic Committee President Majid Al Usaimi interacted with Mornine live on stage, asking questions about the event and the number of participating countries. The robots also greeted His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoom, showing how naturally AI can blend into major sporting events.
This was the first time in the history of the Games, that AI technology was used in the operations and delivery of the Games.
The robots also played a role in supporting the delivery of the medal’s ceremony.
The AiMOGA robot dogs also were part of the closing ceremony entertaining the VIPs and guess through a special show.
One of the event’s key sponsors, Chery, played a key role by bringing the AI robots and robot dogs to the Games. Chery is also developing accessible car technologies, including hand-control systems, adjustable seating, and future wheelchair-friendly designs.
Mr. Zhu Shaodong, CEO of Chery Brand and Executive Vice President of Chery International
“Bringing AiMOGA robot Mornine and AiMOGA robot dog Arogs to the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games reflects our belief that technology must serve humanity. At Chery, we are committed to creating innovations that make life easier, safer, and more accessible for every individual – especially young athletes who inspire us with their courage.”
Designed to do much more than perform tasks, these robots were built to engage, support, and comfort people. The robot dogs, in particular, delighted young participants with their realistic behaviour.
Volunteers assisting with the robots explained: “Robots can help decrease stress for athletes who feel nervous before competitions. For many athletes, especially those with mobility or sensory challenges, having technologies that can guide them, answer questions, or help them move around makes the entire experience smoother.”
These innovations were created to make life easier, safer, and more accessible – especially for people with impairments – while supporting, not replacing, human connection.
Their presence at the Dubai 2025 AYPG showed how AI can fit naturally into everyday tasks, offering both practical assistance and emotional comfort.
