The ADNOC Yas in Schools National Finals came to a historic close on Wednesday, with more than 1,000 students from schools across the UAE and beyond competing in the season finale at Yas Marina Circuit.

The climax of the Yas in Schools 2022-2023 season saw 6 days of competition and displays of ingenuity, creativity and technical excellence from 86 teams at the world’s largest F1 in Schools National Finals.

In the F1 in Schools main event, Team Aeolian Racing from JSS International School were crowned the 2023 National Champions, displaying incredible teamwork and innovative strategy to top the time sheets.

Team Phoenix Spirit from Abu Dhabi Indian School – Girls were victorious in the Formula Ethara competition, while Team Crimson Gladiator from Rochester Institute of Technology stood atop the podium in the 4 x 4 in Schools category. Following a distinguished debut performance in the season finale, Team Limitless Speed from Victory Heights Primary School were crowned Formula Ethara Rookie Champions and Team Ecolyte from Horizon International School were crowned F1 in Schools Rookie Champions.

After their victorious weekend, Team Aeolian Racing from JSS International School and Team Ecolyte from Horizon International School will represent the United Arab Emirates at the F1 in Schools World Finals in 2024.

The final event in the 2022-23 season marks a historic chapter for the Yas in Schools programme, with over 23,000 students from across the UAE and beyond taking part across the academic year, with the national programme proving an unequivocal success.

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, said: “It has been a privilege to witness the innovation, attention to detail and passion of our students at this year’s Yas in Schools National Finals over the past week, and what a year it has been. The response and participation levels that we have seen this season has been remarkable, and it was a delight to see the students show their hard work at the National Finals.

“This is an event that is now the world’s largest F1 in Schools final event, something which has only been made possible due to the hard work of the students, teachers and programme coordinators, whom we thank for their efforts. We wish Team Aeolian Racing  and Team Ecolyte the very best at the World Finals in 2024 and congratulate all the teams that participated this year.”

Following their success at the Yas in Schools National Finals, all outright award winners will be attending this year’s #AbuDhabiGP weekend from November 23 to 26 at Yas Marina Circuit.
