RTA Dubai to offer free bus rides and 50% discount on taxi rides

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority announced today its decision to provide public transport buses (buses) free of charge during the same period in order to serve those authorized to move during the comprehensive sterilization period of the emirate, which was announced today by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai in coordination with the Control and Control Center to combat the Corona Virus, and it will continue Over the course of the next two weeks, over the next two weeks, in addition to offering passengers who use taxis in general, a discount of 50% on the value due to the fare.

Dubai Roads explained that the metro and tram service will not be available during the declared sterilization period, at a time when the authority seeks to provide various possible support to all members of society in this difficult stage, with all efforts required and the cooperation of the public to the maximum extent to ensure overcoming This temporary crisis and overcome it as quickly as possible.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority said: “In compliance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to provide the highest possible levels of support to all members of society in this exceptional stage This decision was made in order to alleviate the users of public transportation, and to enable everyone who is forced to leave his house to fulfill a necessary need, as well as the cadre employees and the categories authorized to go to their business headquarters within the vital sectors that serve all residents of the city, in a way that directly or indirectly serves Amos range of society, as the decision comes confirmation of the Commission’s commitment to support all efforts in the Emirate of Dubai and in the UAE as a whole to address the emerging pandemic corona and reduce the chances of transmission and reduction to the lowest possible levels. ”
