For the first time in the region, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for Waste Management, Tadweer, introduced specially made vehicles to sterilize public facilities and residential areas, as part of its participation in the ongoing national sterilization program throughout Abu Dhabi Emirate.
The use of these 45 vehicles reflects the strategy of the Department and its strategic partners to harness latest innovations to ensure high efficiency in performance, and achieve the best results in sterilization operations to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and provide a healthy and safe environment for society.
The vehicles, which were assembled and modified locally can spray sterilization materials for 100 metres through a dual system that washes and sterilizes the streets at the same time – which are supported by two fans, with a capacity of 30 kilowatts, rotating in several directions.
Each vehicle can hold a capacity of 10,000 litres of water and sterilization materials, while the average consumption of water is 10 cubic meters per hour, providing an eco-friendly consumption of water and materials, and the ability to clean as many areas as possible
