The UAE Media Council has unveiled “Amen”, a new digital platform that empowers the public to report and provide feedback on media content

The UAE Media Council has officially launched Amen, a pioneering digital platform aimed at enabling the public to actively monitor and provide feedback on media content published within the UAE. The initiative represents a significant step toward fostering a responsible, inclusive, and ethically grounded media environment.
The platform reflects the UAE’s belief in the pivotal role society plays in safeguarding the national media landscape and upholding its values. By encouraging community participation, Amen seeks to elevate media standards, promote balanced reporting, and ensure alignment with national identity and cultural values.
A Strategic Move to Strengthen Media Integrity
H.E. Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE Media Council and Chairman of the UAE National Media Office, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the leadership’s vision to place individuals and communities at the heart of national progress. He emphasised the media’s critical role as a platform for public discourse, national aspiration, and societal development.
“Content is a responsibility. It shapes awareness, reflects the nation’s image, and influences how we are perceived locally and globally,” H.E. Abdulla stated. “What we produce and publish must benefit society, elevate discourse, and express our values and identity.”
He further underscored the importance of collaboration between the media and the public in maintaining credibility, advancing open dialogue, and ensuring sustainable growth in media content.
Championing Ethical Expression and National Identity
The Amen platform is designed to uphold the UAE’s commitment to responsible expression, creativity, and cultural preservation. It offers a direct communication channel through which citizens and residents can voice concerns, highlight content that may conflict with societal values, and contribute ideas for constructive media practices.
By engaging the community in this process, the platform reinforces shared responsibility for ethical content creation and dissemination, while also fostering a deeper connection between media institutions and the society they serve.
Aligned with the Year of Community
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, explained that the launch of Amen is closely tied to the objectives of the “Year of Community”, declared by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He described the platform as a vital component of the UAE’s broader media regulatory framework.
Amen is more than a reporting tool; it is a channel for civic participation that supports the evolution of high-quality, impactful media. Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi shared how it ensures content resonates with community standards and inspires awareness among current and future generations.”
Looking Ahead
The Amen platform is part of the UAE Media Council’s comprehensive efforts to develop a professional, accountable, and forward-looking media sector that keeps pace with the nation’s ambitions and enhances its standing on the regional and global stage.
By empowering society to act as a co-guardian of media integrity, the UAE continues to pave the way for innovative, values-driven media that speaks for its people and reflects its progress.
