The US greenback was unchanged against the Kuwaiti dinar for exchange on Sunday, as the Central Bank of Kuwait reported the rate was still at KD 0.281 per dollar, while the euro stood at KD 0.384.
The daily price bulletin said the pound sterling was down to KD 0.472, the Swiss franc dropped to KD 0.314 and the Japanese yen stayed unchanged at KD 0.002.
Slight changes in major currencies value came amid a continued recovery in the world’s major economy. The US reported a drop in the number of applicants for unemployment benefits as well as an increase in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
Number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits declined 27,000 to a seasonally adjusted 300,000 for the week ending May 24, the Labor Department said on Thursday.
