The Central Bank and banks operating in the U.A.E., today held their third quarterly meeting as part of the quarterly consultative meetings.

The meeting was chaired by Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, the Governor, and attended by Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, the Chairman of the U.A.E. Banks Federation as well as Chief Executive Officers of banks operating in the U.A.E.

At the commencement of the meeting, the Governor thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the confidence placed in him to serve the U.A.E.. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwaidi for the sincere efforts he has made over the past period in promoting the U.A.E. financial system, wishing him all the best.

The meeting discussed issues relating to the Mobile Wallet initiative as well as the regulation regarding the financing of shares in companies under formation.

The participants then addressed the remaining items on the agenda.
