Emirates SkyCargo closed 2025 with a clearly defined growth strategy for 2026, supported by significant investments in fleet expansion, network development, digital transformation, and the launch of new products, further strengthening its position as the cargo division of the world’s largest international airline.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said the airline focused on reinforcing its core operations throughout 2025 to lay the groundwork for its next phase of expansion. He noted that 2026 will be a milestone year, with the anticipated delivery of up to 10 Boeing 777 freighters by December, adding capacity to support network growth, operational flexibility, and enhanced customer offerings.

Throughout 2025, Emirates SkyCargo inducted additional Boeing 777 freighters into its fleet, enabling the phased retirement of older aircraft. The current fleet consists of 11 Boeing 777 freighters and five wet-leased Boeing 747s, alongside passenger aircraft undergoing conversion programmes. By the end of 2026, the airline plans to operate a minimum of 21 freighters.

Network expansion continued during the year, with eight new freighter destinations added, increasing the total to 42 destinations worldwide across six continents. Capacity on high-demand routes was also boosted through increased frequencies.

The airline expanded strategic partnerships through new interline agreements, improving connectivity in key growth markets, while strengthening existing collaborations with global carriers to extend its reach further.

Operational efficiency remained a priority, with investments in low-emission ground vehicles and preparations underway to introduce hydrogen-powered trucks in early 2026. Digitalisation also advanced significantly, with nearly 80 percent of shipments booked digitally by the end of 2025, alongside the rollout of instant digital payment solutions to streamline cargo operations.

Several specialised products were introduced during the year, including Emirates Courier Express, a door-to-door delivery service that has already expanded into multiple markets, and a dedicated Aerospace and Engineering vertical catering to rising demand for aircraft parts and engines.

Strong growth was recorded across key verticals such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and secure electronics transport, positioning Emirates SkyCargo for sustained expansion.

Looking ahead to 2026, the airline aims to double its current capacity, add 20 new freighter destinations, and further strengthen its digital-first logistics solutions, building on the solid foundations established in 2025.
