Interview with Michael Andersen, Founder and CEO of EuroTech ME

  1. The IT Services market in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is projected to grow by 4.96% (2022-2027) resulting in a market volume of US$2.77bn in 2027 according to Statista. Do you have a 5-year plan for the Saudi market in order to meet their corporate needs?

Since its inception in 2009, EuroTech ME has grown very quickly in the UAE, and we aim to take everything we have learned over the years and introduce it into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) market. One of our main advantages is that we are a very proactive and agile organization, allowing us to make fast decisions that benefit both the business and our clientele alike. Our current talent pool of experienced staff in the UAE will also contribute towards ensuring we can fulfil any requirement needed.

Over the next five years, we plan to have a fully staffed EuroTech office in KSA focusing not only on project delivery but also managed services and IT support as we have in Dubai. Our initial plan is very much focused on Riyadh, but as we grow we have our sights on the likes of Neom, Dammam and other key urban centres in the Kingdom.

2. Valued at over $32.1 billion, Saudi Arabia’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) market is the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region and is well-positioned to become a technology service and cloud hub with access to international connectivity through the Red Sea and the Gulf, and with the potential to serve the European, Asian, and African markets, according to the International Trade Administration (ITA). Are you planning to partner with any Saudi entity in this sense in order to cater to the needs of the European, Asian, and African markets as well?

We are always open to partnerships that will be beneficial in the long run. We have built EuroTech ME on strong partnerships in the UAE, and we will continue to do the same going forward in KSA.

3. EuroTech ME expanded its services to include design consultation, guiding our clients from creating the concept to the development process and the post-launch monitoring and quality assurance. Will you please tell us more about these services?

We noticed that several clients wanted an external company to help with the Design and Pre-Contract phases of their projects. For many international clients, it is difficult to differentiate between the many companies promising to provide a quality service, with regional know-how and a proven track record.

We decided to help both end users and design firms by designing a practical, cost-effective solution that our clients know will meet EuroTech ME’s level of quality. Once the product has been designed, EuroTech ME will then offer the client on-site quality assurance services, tender consultation, and verification services to ensure that the final product is delivered, keeping in mind the highest standards, especially during the procurement and installation process. At EuroTech ME, we act as an extension of our clients’ facilities and real estate project team.

4. In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to develop the telecommunications and information technology sectors, EuroTech ME aims to service businesses with a dedicated Saudi-based team to ensure a smooth transition from traditional work models to modern, cutting-edge practices. Kindly tell us more about the kind of services that you will deploy in order to ensure a smooth transition from traditional work models to modern, cutting-edge practices.

The pandemic has made it possible for anyone to work from anywhere at any time. Video Conferencing is a critical service that needs to work flawlessly to ensure work-from-home or hybrid work models remain suitable for business needs. At EuroTech ME, we ensure business integration with platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc. with ease.  Meeting rooms and external staff need to be able to log on to any platform with either their built-in hardware system in the office, or from their laptop.

We are also looking even further into the future with technologies like Holographic presentation systems, which we just recently installed in a large project in KSA. We believe this is the future of live meetings, and is something we are very interested in.

5. EuroTech ME offers clients dedicated help desks and full-time staffing solutions. Does this mean that you can help your clients have their own ‘help desk’ and ‘IT departments’ fully staffed and managed from your side? Please let us know more about the whole process if possible.

Yes, we take the challenges out of the hiring process, visa process, annual leave and absenteeism resourcing gaps, and much more. When using EuroTech ME, clients don’t have to worry about full–time staffing issues. With dedicated help desks, we will ensure that our clients’ IT/AV equipment is running smoothly without issues, and that staff’s productivity is unhampered.
