Just a six-hour trip from Dubai with four direct flights per day from Dubai International Airport, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, located in the bustling downtown area of the Thai capital, is the perfect destination for UAE travellers looking for a vibrant city break this UAE National Day.

Those looking to arrive a few days earlier can also enjoy the Loy Krathong festival from 27-29th November, a beautiful display of lights that pay respect to the goddess of water, with intricately designed lanterns and incense sticks set alight to float down the river.

Surrounded by rich heritage, bustling streets, and exciting nightlife, the iconic Waldorf Astoria property perfectly combines cultural exploration with relaxation, boasting stunning views across the Bangkok Skyline.

Unwind after a day of exploring the city with a treatment at the Waldorf Astoria Spa, which offers an extensive selection of beauty and relaxation services with a focus on traditional Thai massage, or swim amongst the skyscrapers at their infinity pool located on the 16th floor where floating cabanas overlook the city skyline from above.

  1. Enjoy Afternoon Tea at the iconic Peacock Alley.

Paying homage to both the English origins of the meal and classic dishes created at the iconic Waldorf Astoria in New York, spend the afternoon enjoying afternoon tea delights at Peacock Alley. The spread features a selection of fine savoury and sweet pastries, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream, lemon cream, strawberry jam, and Mariage Frères tea or coffee.

The afternoon tea menu is expertly crafted to suit the local Thai produce, changing with the seasons to highlight the best ingredients. Showcasing executive sous chef Chef Toddi’s French culinary touch and understanding of Thai flavours, the savoury bites are the perfect culmination of East meets West with creative flair. Delicate sweet treats feature tropical Thai fruits that are light, naturally sweet, and colourful, created by executive pastry chef Andrea Noli.

The term ‘Peacock Alley’ was coined to portray the daily promenade of notables through the original colonnade connecting The Waldorf and The Astoria hotels in New York City. A tradition that continues today, Peacock Alley is an elegant lounge celebrated as a place ‘to see and be seen’.

  1. Swim amongst the skyscrapers.

The iconic outdoor pool, situated next to the wellness facilities on the 16th floor, offers a shaded place to relax with floating cabanas overlooking the city skyline from above, making it the perfect destination to cool off during the day and enjoy striking sunsets as dusk falls upon the city.

  1. Discover the most deluxe breakfast in Bangkok.

Mornings at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok usually start eagerly with the decadent breakfast buffet, often called the most deluxe in the city. Breakfast includes Eggs Benedict, which was conceived at the Waldorf Astoria New York, plus two local versions featuring a chili and truffle offering. Juices are cold-pressed, and a choice of other egg dishes and pastries are prepared à la minute.

  1. Experience Chef’s Counter Dining at Bull & Bear.

Get close to the action while enjoying a well-edited beef degustation by Hathairat Urapanthamat, the restaurant’s chef de cuisine, aka Jiew at Bull & Bear. The private experience takes diners on a culinary journey of the finest beef, starting with a complimentary amuse-bouche of BBQ Braised Brisket and Caramelized Onion. During the interactive degustation evening, not only hear the backstories of the beef being served but also learn culinary tips from the chef herself.

  1. Sip Champagne on the 56th floor.

Loft is the perfect place for a drink (or two) at sundown, overlooking the aerial view of the city. Exotic, glamorous, and steeped in the romance of Art Nouveau, the artisanal spirits and forgotten cocktails are crafted to the modern palate using a great collection of house-made ingredients, accompanied by gourmet bar bites. Taking inspiration from the original 1935 Waldorf Astoria Bar Book, The Loft exudes a feeling of walking into an artist’s studio from a bygone era, stylishly curated to show the artist at work.

  1. Unwind with a Thai Massage from the experts themselves.

Unwind after a day of exploring the city with a treatment at the Waldorf Astoria Spa, which offers an extensive selection of beauty and relaxation services with a focus on traditional Thai massage.

An energising and balancing treatment, Thai massage uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to relax the whole body, combining the principles of acupressure whereby the Sen is stimulated, which is said to balance the energy system in the body.

Ease away muscle pain and tension with the signature “UNWIND” treatment, ideal for anyone in need of deep tension release. This fast-paced, free-flowing, and energetic treatment is perfect for slowing busy minds, stretching, and elongating tight muscles as well as helping to soothe and reduce tension.

Begin the treatment with the choice of a truly unique nourishing body scrub or a cocooning body mask, followed by a warm oil massage, which will enhance your overall physical well-being and restore harmony. The restorative journey concludes with the choice of a foot reflexology or an Ayurvedic head massage to release any remaining signs of stress and leave spa-goers completely invigorated.

  1. Indulge in the “Taste of Waldorf” package.

Included in the “Taste of Waldorf” is daily breakfast at The Brasserie where guests can fuel for the day ahead with a hearty selection of both local and international dishes. Hailed as “one of the best breakfasts in Bangkok”, enjoy an all-you-can-eat spread with a view of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. As night-time falls, guests choose from Front Room, the amazingly authentic Thai restaurant, or the visually stunning Bull & Bear for a gourmet daily set dinner.

  1. Shop the iconic Bangkok malls and markets.

In a city synonymous with shopping discover all Bangkok has to offer just steps from the hotel. Located on the Ratchaprasong Intersection, at the heart of Bangkok’s main shopping district, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is the ideal location to shop the afternoon away before returning to the spacious guest rooms before heading out to discover the wonders of the night markets.

  1. Take in the world-class design.

Designed by two top international design firms, Hong Kong-based world-renowned architect André Fu and a New York-headquartered award-winning design firm AvroKO, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok embraces a new interpretation of the Waldorf Astoria spirit with a contemporary building that creates a feeling of completely relaxed urban luxury.

From the street-level arrival at the Lower Lobby and Front Room Thai restaurant to the Peacock Alley and contemporary The Brasserie on the Upper Lobby, each destination is a visual journey that complements the legendary Waldorf Astoria aesthetic, with moments of refined cultural accents and Thai motifs infused throughout.

The design of the top three floors offers distinctive, artistically curated dining outlets, Bull & Bear, The Loft, and Champagne Bar, each showcasing a nod towards the Waldorf Astoria legacy.

Prices start at THB 12,500++ for a Deluxe City View. For more information and booking contact bkkwa.hotel@waldorfastoria.com.
