Dorchester Collection announces a new initiative, Legendary Architecture experience: Eyes on the Future in Dubai, an exclusive art tour curated for guests of The Lana.

Legendary Architecture is the second chapter in Dorchester Collection’s Legendary Artists’ series, which invites guests to follow in the footsteps of Picasso, Fontana, Hepworth and more. Inspired by the hotel’s ‘future classic’ Foster + Partners’ design, Eyes on the Future will explore a unique aspect of Dubai, a city which itself was built from the ground up in just 35 years with a strong focus on innovation.

The journey begins at The Lana, in the vibrant new district of Marasi Bay Marina, with spectacular views and within easy reach of the next stage of the city’s evolution: Dubai Design District. In a chauffeur-driven car, guests will explore Dubai’s hidden gems of architecture, carefully curated to tell a story that begins in Dubai’s past and stretches into the future.

Guests will discover The Etihad Museum, a building that feels as light as a sheet of paper, Killa Design Studio’s Office of the Future which was printed by a robotic arm in just 17 days, and finally the architectural interventions of the historic Al Shindagha district that kept the city cool before air conditioning.

Guided by an architecture expert, guests will be able to explore the stories and structures of Dubai and uncover fascinating hidden details that even locals might overlook. Each itinerary will be personalised to the group or individual, ensuring the experience caters for both seasoned travellers who wish to refine their knowledge as well as those who may be visiting for the first time.

“Building on the excitement of Dorchester Collection’s Legendary Artists’ trails we are delighted to announce this new chapter of the series – to allow guests to discover the Dubai you can only experience first-hand – through a new, fascinating lens of architecture and design,” says Richard Alexander, general manager of The Lana, Dubai. “We were inspired by Dubai’s own rise from settlement to city and its ongoing desire to dream of the future while staying connected to its rich past by the creek.”

Eyes on the Future in Dubai invites guests to immerse themselves in the creative legacies of some of the world’s most influential architects. Subsequent Legendary Architecture trails are planned later in the year at The Beverly Hills Hotel, LA and 45 Park Lane, London.

Dorchester Collection’s Legendary Artists series includes six bespoke expert-led walking tours in four international cities, all following in the footsteps of renowned artists that have left a lasting impact on these cities and indeed on the art world itself: Picasso, Monet and Rodin in Paris, Barbara Hepworth in London, Lucio Fontana in Milan, and Caravaggio in Rome.
