The UAE Ministry of Education urged all students aged 16 and above to get the necessary vaccine doses to start in-school learning.
The ministry wrote on Twitter, “The Ministry of Education encourages all individuals aged 16 and above to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Vaccination is a mandatory requirement for entering educational facilities.”
It was also learned that students who are exempted from vaccination must present the UAE ministry’s exemption certificate at schools. The authorities in the UAE have decided to reopen educational institutions for the academic year 2021/22.
They have set fresh precautionary measures for the safety of students and teaching staff.
On the other hand, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Public Health Center, Mubadala Health and Yas Mall have organised a pop-up vaccination centre for all students, including university students.
The authorities said students above 16 wishing to return to face-to-face learning must be vaccinated prior to the start of the academic year.
The schools said that students must received the two vaccine doses at least 28 days prior to rejoining schools.
In Abu Dhabi, schools have decided to reopen play areas and canteens for students, but informed parents that vaccine is mandatory.
The authorities have also informed that new policies issued by the Emergency and Crisis team also dictate that as of August 20, students aged 16 and above must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to be allowed entry to schools.
