Introducing Jooksing: Where Chinese American Comfort Food Meets Quality Ingredients

Introducing Jooksing, the new quick-service restaurant from renowned Chef Kelvin Cheung and Restauranteur Neha Anand. Serving up a fresh, casual take on Chinese American favourites, Jooksing brings nostalgic classics to Dubai’s fast-casual dining scene, made with top-quality ingredients and an easy-going spirit to match.

Opened Friday, 2nd of May at Neighbourhood Food Hall in Motor City, and available across all major delivery aggregators, Jooksing offers everyday comfort food, made better. The menu is packed with flavourful ingredients, and prepared with Chef Kelvin’s unmistakable twists. For those unsure where to start, Chef Kelvin recommends signature favourites including Crab Rangoon, Jooksing Wings, Mongolian Beef and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Guests can also find their perfect flavour match, whether they’re craving something bold and spicy like the Kung Pao, bright and playful with Sweet & Sour, or comforting and savoury with Mongolian Beef. With a wide range of gluten-free options, Jooksing makes it easy for everyone to dig in and enjoy.

Being a name that carries layers of cultural meaning, Jooksing (竹升) reclaims a once-loaded Cantonese slang term historically used to describe Chinese Americans – “hollow bamboo,” neither fully Chinese nor fully American. Today, we are using the term as a celebration of in-betweenness: the sweet spot where tradition and innovation collide, capturing the essence of Chef Kelvin’s story.

The Jooksing stand brings a bright energy, bold graphics and a playful attitude rooted in heritage. Staff will be rocking custom Aloha shirts – a nod to the original Hawaiian shirt, which was first trademarked in 1936 by Chinese American entrepreneur Ellery Chun. Like the food, the shirts tell a story of migration, creativity and transformation.

Jooksing is a natural extension of Chef Kelvin’s renowned third culture philosophy – one that honours roots while rewriting the rulebook. At Jun’s, his award-winning flagship restaurant on Downtown Dubai’s Boulevard, this philosophy takes shape in pioneering gourmet experiences. At Jooksing, it’s all about keeping things simple, bold, and approachable – without ever compromising on quality. Jooksing is for everyone who’s ever felt ‘in between’, offering a space where diners can connect over shared cravings and unexpected stories.

Whether you’re after a quick lunch, a relaxed dinner or a late-night craving fix, Jooksing delivers Chinese American favourites that are fast, affordable, and full of soul.
