Assistant Undersecretary Labour Affair at U.A.E. Ministry of Labour, Humaid bin Deemas Al Suwaidi, has called for the establishment of a proper communication strategy between the ministries of labour of member states of Council of Cooperation Council for Gulf Arab States (GCC) and the Executive Office of the GCC Council of Labour Ministers in order to enable a better promotion of achievements, efforts and initiatives of GCC countries at international forums.
GCC countries are making huge efforts to establish high standards for policies governing the labour market, said Bin Deemas following a preparatory meeting of GCC undersecretaries of labour ministries on the sidelines of the 103rd session of International Labour Conference (ILC) of International Labour Organisation (ILO) between 28th May-12th June at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), Switzerland.
Employers and representatives of labourers in six GCC member states – U.A.E., Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar- and Yemen, took part in the group discussion meeting which was convened on the sidelines of the ILO conference in order to promote developments in GCC countries in terms of labour laws, relations and legislations.
The GCC group meeting also discussed the appointment of delegates of GCC member states to the committees of International Labour Conference, as well as arrangements for the unified GCC message which will be delivered at the plenary session of the conference on Wednesday.
