Slovenian President Invites Qatari Businessmen to Invest in his Country

Slovenian President borut Pahor has invited Qatari businessmen to come to his country to identify investment opportunities after the Government of Slovenia had decided to open its economy to foreign investment during the next stage.

The Slovenian President was speaking at a meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce and industry attended by the Qatari businessmen Association and the delegation accompanying the President of Slovenia.

The Slovenian President said: “it is a great honour for us to meet with HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani where we agreed to make efforts to establish good relations between our two countries , especially as political cooperation supports strong economic cooperation.

He added : “Slovenia has risen out of the recession and is now on track to achieve strong economic growth, due to the country’s exports.

He said he looks forward to welcoming the Qatari businessmen in his country, and also businessmen from Slovenia would be able to enter the Qatari market in order to exploit the great opportunities available in the business sector and then we meet after several years to discuss the results and be happy with what has been achieved .

For his part, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and industry Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Thani said: “relations between Qatar and Slovenia are distinguished and developing in terms of exchanges of visits and signing of agreements between officials of both sides which confirmed determination to strengthen their cooperation in various sectors.

He also added: “it was the success of the previous meetings between the Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from Slovenia which constitute a motivation towards greater cooperation and communication between the two countries, but he said the trade volume was still modest and did not rise to the level of ambitions and aspirations in light of facilities being provided by the two countries.” He noted that Qatari businessmen were seeking to explore investment opportunities in Slovenia, expressing confidence that the latter provides all facilities available for investment thanks to its privileged geographical location.
