Qatar Chamber has organized a training course on how to compatible with the provisions of the Protection of Competition Law, designed for legal advisers at companies and institutions.
The training course shed light on the legal provisions and regulations governing the Protection of Competition and Prevent Monopolistic Practices Law.
HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, who is also the Head of the Protection of Competition and Prevent Monopolistic Practices Committee, said that organizing the training course aimed to sensitize companies to the law of Protection of Competition and Prevent Monopolistic, as Qatar Chamber is always keen to be a link between business owners and government officials to communicate on laws to be issued or have already been issued, in order to bear in mind the interests of business owner as well as the Qatari economy in in general.
He noted that Qatar Chamber believed that shedding light on the provisions of the Law and presenting it to business owners is important to encourage the protection of competition between companies.
HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani noted that the Law is part of a set of laws drafted by the Qatari government recently to provide an appropriate legislative environment for economic development, and in line with greater trade liberalization and integration into the global market.
The new course will highlight the importance and the role of the Protection of Competition Law in the regulation and control of the practice of economic activities, the development of the business environment and investment promotion, he said.
The training course will also help companies to avoid violations, and will shed light on the procedures and conditions for obtaining the necessary permits and approvals to comply with the provisions of Law No. 19 of 2006 on the protection of competition and prevent monopolistic practices, he added.
