Qatar Airways will increase 30% seating capacity on direct flights to Perth by upgrading the aircraft to Boeing 777-300, the carrier announced Monday.
The increase in capacity will be effective October 1 2014.

The upgrade from a Boeing 777-200 to a 777-300 will add 30% more seats on the direct daily flights to Perth Airport. The number of seats will rise by 1,064 per week, the carrier said.
Along with the increase in capacity, the airline is also celebrating its two-year anniversary since the launch of its direct flights to Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

Perth, first launched in July 2012, became the second Australian destination for the airline, joining Melbourne which was launched in 2009.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said, “Qatar Airways expanded operations in Australia by adding Perth to our network of destinations two years ago. It proved a sound move as we have had great success with the route.

“Now are increasing our capacity to meet the needs of our Australian passengers. We are very pleased that they continually choose to travel by Qatar Airways.” The Perth route has seen exceptional growth over the last two years. It provides excellent connections for passengers to the airline’s numerous destinations in the Middle East and Africa as well as 33 destinations in Europe, through the airline’s new state-of-the-art home, Hamad International Airport, in Doha, the carrier said.

Daily Flight Schedule: Depart Perth: QR901 at 2330 hrs, arrive Doha 0550 hrs. Depart Doha: QR900 at 0200 hrs, arrive Perth 1755 hrs.

Qatar Airways Cargo Adds Second Frequency to Delhi

Doha, August 03 (QNA) – Qatar Airways Cargo started operating its second freighter service to Delhi, India on 22 July. This second frequency builds rapidly on the back of the first freighter service from Doha which arrived at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on 4 May, this year.

“India is a highly important market for Qatar Airways Cargo,” said Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann. “We are delighted to start our second freighter service to Delhi, just two months after launching the first freighter on May 4.

“Delhi has one of India’s largest and fastest growing retail industries, and on top of that, it is an important commercial capital for Asia.” added Ogiermann.
Qatar Airways Cargo now operates the twice-weekly service between Doha and Delhi, using the Airbus A330 freighter, with freighters departing on Tuesdays and Sundays from Doha. Qatar Airways already operates two daily passenger flights to Delhi.

Qatar Airways Cargo recently strengthened its product portfolio with the launch in January 2014 of two new premium services that optimise the transportation of time and temperature-sensitive goods, including high-value pharmaceutical products and perishables.

The new services, QR Pharma and QR Fresh, add to the company’s substantial range of cargo services and further enhance its capacity and flexibility to effectively move sensitive commodities in line with the highest world-class standards.
