The National Qualifications Authority (NQA) has put the Qualifications Framework for the Emirates Handbook into circulation at ministries and educational and training institutes, and said the new guide provides detailed information about the architecture of qualifications in U.A.E. and also defines the requirements that will enable comparison of U.A.E. qualifications to foreign qualifications.

General Manager of National Qualifications Authority, Thani Al Mehairi, said the handbook, available in Arabic and English, is the result of NQA’s hard work and tireless effort to develop controls and standards for qualifications in U.A.E.

The handbook sets out the policies, structures, standards, systems and procedures for a qualifications framework for U.A.E., known as the QFEmirates. It enables a coherent, consistent and robust approach to be taken to the design of qualifications for higher education, general education and technical, vocational and professional education and training.

The handbook also sets out criteria for both the accreditation of qualifications and for those organisations in the public and private sectors which are to deliver them. It provides guidance and a reference tool for accreditation and awarding bodies and qualifications designers and developers.
