HE Economy Minister: Qatar Committed to Enhancing GCC Joint Action

HE the Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said Friday that Qatar’s participation in the 15th GCC Joint Exhibition, which will open on Monday in the Emirate of Sharjah, comes as part of the country’s commitment to enhancing the march of cooperation among GCC states, especially on the economic and trade level to achieve the aspired integration which will realize the interests and aspirations of their peoples.
The exhibition, to be held under the theme “made in the GCC”, aims to introduce companies and corporations in the region, in addition to shedding light on the encouraging businesses and giving prominence to the role of GCC states in supporting small and medium-scale projects.
It also aims to shed light on the encouragement of innovation and creativity, protection of consumer rights and provision of appropriate opportunities for GCC traders to market and introduce their products and to increase the volume of trade exchange between GCC countries, in addition to familiarizing with the investment and trade opportunities provided by the Gulf economy to foreign investors as well as the marketing of e-services pertaining to the business sector.
This year, the exhibition will focus on the sectors of industry, trade, business, small and medium-scale projects, construction and building, transport and aviation, energy, tourism, information, agriculture, investment, food security and oil and gas. A number of Qatari national companies will display at the exhibition their varying products in the sectors of industry, trade, services and other products.
The exhibition will bring together a number of VIP personalities and businessmen from GCC states, as well as investors and industrialists from the region and the world as it will provide an appropriate opportunity for businessmen to display their products, have contacts with GCC businessmen and consumers to brief them on the progress which the GCC industry has achieved. It will feature more than 200 exhibitors from the Gulf region.
The exhibition, which is held every two years in one of the GCC states alternately, will fulfil the aspirations of young business initiators and owners of small and medium-scale projects to provide them with the opportunity to display their products, introduce their services and meet with businessmen, investors and consumers.
