H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region visited today 6th Al Gharbia Watersports Festival 2014, scheduled to conclude tomorrow at Mirfa Public Beach, Al Gharbia.
The event, is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed and organised by the Committee for Festivals, Cultural and Heritage Programmes in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club and Al Gharbia Sports Club.
He pointed out that the festival comes as a translation to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and follow up by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to develop the region.
Sheikh Hamdan toured the festival, where he was briefed on the models of old yachts. He also met a number of participants at the festival.
