Dubai Chamber’s entrepreneurship development programme approved 21 projects, organised 15 workshops

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative, Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme, announced the approval of 21 commercial projects for its participants during a workshop on franchise business organised recently at the Chamber’s headquarters.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with Nuummite Consulting, was attended by over 50 participants, and dealt with the various aspects of franchise business which today contributes heavily to economic development of the country while providing job opportunities for the youth who benefit from the expertise of overseas franchise companies.

Also, the workshop extensively reviewed practical scenarios including the setting up of a franchise and a good franchise model while it touched upon various cases and experiences of dealing with the franchise business where the attendees interacted by asking questions about deriving the maximum benefit from franchising.

In his welcome address, Mr. Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, said that the entrepreneurship development programme, initiated by Dubai Chamber, has approved 21 business projects till date under its objective of promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and business excellence among young citizens.

He further noted that recently four projects were launched as the programme continued to support young entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into reality.

Mr. Al Zaabi added that Tejar Dubai is a comprehensive entrepreneurship development programme which trains enterprising youth to come up with successful business ideas based on the extensive on-site training, mentoring and business advice provided by experts in the field.

The participants are fully supported throughout the process of nurturing and realising of their dreams, he said, adding that the programme has organised 15 workshops till date and has helped a number of young citizens to make their mark in the business world.

The Tejar Dubai initiative, launched by Dubai Chamber, offers a specialised programme and platform for youth to help them establish their own small-to-medium-sized businesses and is based on three key pillars of assess, assist and attain.

With its commitment to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which emphasises that entrepreneurship is the shortest route to a bright future, the training programme aims to find and train creative and commercially-minded youth to help them turn their business ideas into a reality.

Not only does the initiative provide youth with access to an extensive development programme, including classroom learning, on-site training, mentoring and business advice, but candidates also get networking opportunities with local and international business leaders and access to investment capital.
