Cityscape Qatar Honours Top Real Estate Projects

United Development Company (UDC) won two awards at the third edition of the Cityscape Awards Gala for Real Estate in Qatar.
UDC won awards in two categories – Commercial and Mixed Use Project Award and the Residence Project Award for The Pearl-Qatar.

Cityscape Qatar 2014, currently in progress at the Qatar National Convention Centre under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, has drawn leading real estate professionals, consultants and visitors.
The First Qatar Real Estate Development Company bagged the Leisure & Tourism Project Award for the Panorama Hilton Residence.

Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Foundation won the Community and Culture Project Award for its Qatar Bio Bank.
Msheireb Properties came out as winner of the Retail Project Award for its Msheireb Downtown Doha project.
A panel of top international judges selected the winners from Qatar-based projects.

The awards criteria include the highest excellence in design, planning, construction, ful?lling the brief, management and sustainability.
Cityscape Group Director Deep Marwaha said, “The Cityscape Awards recognise outstanding individuals and companies who are leaders in delivering exceptional real estate developments in Qatar.

“We hope these awards will spur on the great efforts of these leaders in the real estate and continue to encourage investors to consider the projects on offer.” Arab Engineering Bureau CEO and Chief Architect Ibrahim Jaidah said, “The third annual Cityscape Qatar 2014 shows great potential of real estate market in Qatar.

“It showcases key projects of major local developers. This exhibition is much larger compared to previous years. There is an apparent shift in exhibitors’ profile too.” Exhibitors said “clients have shown positive response” and some expressed delight to see the “quality of visitors remaining high here in Doha”.

Cityscape Qatar today held a Real Estate Summit. Panellists comprising investment chiefs from the GCC and Silatech Qatar discussed the issue of affordability, land pricing rationale, what attracts investors and the impact of rules and regulation in luxury and middle level residential projects.
Other panel discussions through the day turned on the spotlights on hospitality and hotels, mixed use projects and commercial office.
Cityscape Qatar 2014 concludes Wednesday.
