Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director at the Business and Investment Development Sector at Ajman Chamber, has met with the Tanzanian Consul-General to the U.A.E., Omar Rajab, to discuss economic cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting comes as part of the Chamber’s efforts to enhance its cooperation with various countries, and discuss opportunities of economic cooperation.

Al Janahi said that the meeting demonstrates Ajman Chamber’s keenness to consolidate its cooperation with all countries, especially the African nations, as well as investors in the emirate. He went on to say that creating partnerships that will support the growth of the local economy is of much importance, as well as the opening of new markets and the promotion of local industries.

The Executive Director added that the U.A.E. and Ajman have a solid relationship of cooperation, pointing out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries stood at AED6 billion in 2012.

“The most important sectors of mutual trade between Ajman and Tanzania, are petrochemicals and plastic, which make up 71 per cent of Ajman’s trade volume. Ajman’s exports with Tanzania stood at 24 per cent of its total trade at the annual growth rate of about 7 per cent,” said Al Janahi.

On his part, The Consul-General showcased the potential projects and programmes that can be implemented between the two sides, and extended an invitation to Ajman Chamber officials and businessmen to explore investment opportunities in his country.

He also expressed his admiration for the development the Emirate of Ajman has made in various sectors, especially in the economic field, which he said has become a distinct investment platform attracting international investors.
