Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, ADIB, a top-tier Islamic financial services institution, has announced the winners of the Grand Draw for its award-winning Ghina Savings Account.

U.A.E. national, Soud Al Mazrouie, was named the winner of the grand prize of AED 2 million, and the second prize of AED 500,000 was won by Michael Ziegler from the U.S.A. Ten other winners won AED 10,000 each. The draw was held at ADIB’s Gold Centre in Al Ain, in the presence of representatives from the Abu Dhabi Department of Planning and Economy, and senior officials from the bank.

ADIB’s Ghina Savings Account is one of the most innovative saving programmes in its class, and has been voted the Best Savings Account in the U.A.E. at the Banker Middle East Product Awards ceremony. It automatically allows ADIB’s customers to participate in cash prize draws. It also contributes to raising awareness about the importance of saving among ADIB customers and the wider community.

“At ADIB, we are committed to encouraging all our customers to actively lay the foundations for their future” said Philip King, Head of Retail Banking, U.A.E. at ADIB. “We have developed this unique savings account with this aim particularly in mind. It supports our SmartMoney financial education programme, through which we seek to raise awareness of the importance of saving, and help our customers and the community at large realise their ambitions and carefully plan their finances.” The winner of the grand prize, Soud Al Mazrouie, commented, “I am very pleased to have been chosen as the grand prize winner. I opened the Ghina account on a friend’s recommendation to benefit from the regular draws and prizes. I would highly recommend this product to anyone, not only for the regular prize draws but also the great customer service that ADIB offers.” The most distinguishing feature of the Ghina Savings Account is that customers can withdraw their savings at any time, while benefiting from profit rates offered by ADIB on saving accounts, as well as the chance to win cash prizes of up to AED 2 million.

Draws for the AED 10,000 cash prizes are conducted by ADIB twice a month. The Grand Draw for the AED 2 million is held every four months.
