Celine’s New Luggage, a fresh take on the house’s beloved Phantom bag — made its runway return in Michael Rider’s Printemps 2026 debut.
Appearing in Michael Rider’s Printemps 2026 debut runway collection presented in July 2025, the house’s iconic Phantom Luggage bag returns as the New Luggage – elegant yet effortless, extending the past into the present through a more contemporary silhouette and with a New Luggage “Smile Variation” pre – launching in September 2025 in selected stores and on celine.com with additional styles, sizes and colours arriving mid-November.
Introduced by Phoebe Philo in 2010, the Phantom Luggage has become an iconic design and foundational to the history of Celine. Its recognisable wavy lines echo the Mistral bag designed by Céline Vipiana in 1969. With an oversized, east-west shape added to the offer, the New Luggage is crafted from a new supple, shiny lambskin selected for its smooth hand, subtle sheen, and delicate texture. The bag’s structure is refined through a sewn-back construction with piped edges, resulting in a softer, rounder shape light to carry. Recognisable with a new attitude, the New Luggage is defined by several elements: a unique zipper with two expressions including the Smile Variation.
Each model in the New Luggage range is designed for versatility. The Small can be worn crossbody, on the shoulder, or by hand with its removable strap. The Medium is suited for hand or elbow carry, while the Large is structured for both hand and shoulder wear.
The Flat Cabas, an ultra-slim addition to the line, is intended for shoulder or hand carry, ideal for daily use with a spacious interior.
The collection is available in supple shiny lambskin in black, soft tan, citrus, oxide blue, and deep brown. A beige version in suede calfskin and a small format in Porosus crocodile – available in black and chocolate – complete the offer. The New Luggage upholds CELINE’s enduring design codes through precise construction, attitude, and understated sophistication.
