Labour Ministry concludes International Labour Day special events

The Ministry of Labour has recently organised a ceremony concluded the International labour Day events held nationwide under the slogan “Our workers are the pulse of our businesses”, in the presence of a number of ministry officials, government agencies’ representatives and private sector organisations.

Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour said during the event that “The U.A.E. appreciates all efforts made by the workers who contribute to the rise of our nation in all fields”, stressing keenness of the UAE leadership on boosting Emiratis participation in the labour market. He referred to U.A.E.’s President Absher in this respect.

Al Dhaheri conveyed the Minister of Labour’s regards to all the participants of this year’s special events, describing workers as the core and most integral part of the UAE’s development.

He added that this year’s events, which were organised by the Ministry of Labour to celebrate the annual International Labour Day, saw the participation of more than 22, 000 workers of all categories across the U.A.E. “Such events come as part of several initiatives adopted by the ministry to strengthen labour rights protection, and as a commitment by the ministry to implement its mission of regulating the labour market.

“On behalf of the ministry, I’d like to send my gratitude to our 31 strategic public and private sector partners, who made this year’s events incredible through their excellent contribution. This points out that they’re truly filled with responsibility towards promoting human and labour rights.

During the ceremony, he honoured the following international labour day contributors: ADNOC Distribution Center, Khalifa Police Station, UAE Football Association, Abu Dhabi’s Social Support Police Dept., Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the National Company for Trade and Development, Dubai Police, Dubai Health Authority , Dubai Civil Defence and the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai .

Al Dhaheri also honoured Emirates Post, Sharjah Police, the Ministry of (Culture, Youth and Community Development), Umm Al Qaiwain Social Support Police Dept., and Dubai Holdings Group, in addition to Khalidiyah Mall, Al-Mushrif Mall , ICAD Labour Camps City , Al-Raha International Inc., Pro League Committee , Brookfield Meltiplex , Etihad Construction and Investment ( Ascon ) , Dutco Group of Companies, Al Futtaim Group , Safa Dairy , Coca-Cola , Red Crescent , Jewelry millibars , Indian Society , Kawthar fresh water, Ibn Sina Clinics.

In related development, the Ministry’s Guidance Dept. has recently held a closing ceremony of the International Labour Day in Ras Al Khaimah, where visitors.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials.
