Global Village, the UAE and wider region’s leading multicultural family destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment, is inviting university students to demonstrate their innovative business potential and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize. Running until February 28, those who participate in the Future Business Minds competition and submit their creative entertainment and non-food retail ideas will have the opportunity to claim a AED 5,000 cash prize in each category. In addition, the winners and runner ups from each category might witness their proposals become a reality at Global Village in the upcoming seasons.

The Future Business Minds competition is designed to stimulate the spirit of creativity and learning amongst the UAE’s younger generation, encouraging them to push the boundaries of their creativity and hone their commercial instincts. Global Village has always had creative outreach programs with educational institutions across the country as part of its commitment to the wider community.

Khadija Khalifa, Senior Director – Commercial& Sponsorship Global Village, said: “Here at Global Village, we have always proactively encouraged and supported young entrepreneurs. Providing up-and-coming generations with platforms to pursue their passions creates far-reaching value for our society, and work in line with the strategic vision of our leadership. Besides growing the economy, efforts to advance education through innovation has been identified as a key development enabler – and we are excited to see the ideas and innovations coming from the bright young minds of our country. This concept will enable us to engage with young talent from all corners of the UAE, and to participate in the drive to inspire young people to grow and achieve their potential.”

The competition is the first of its kind to be launched by Global Village and is intended to inspire students from various universities across the UAE. Following the deadline for submission, the very best ideas will be shortlisted before the winners are chosen and announced. The categories are Non-Food & Beverage retail concepts, and innovative Entertainment attraction proposals.

Global Village continues to celebrate its Silver Jubilee season until 18th of April offering a wide variety of exciting cultural and entertainment experiences for all their guests. The immense open air venue is chock full of dining, shopping, rides and attractions from across the globe. This season the world-class precautionary measures that have been implemented ensure that Global Village remains a favourite amongst residents and tourists alike.
