Abu Dhabi will host the GCC Healthcare Innovation Congress form 24-27 November 2014, where participants will provide innovative strategies to improve the quality of healthcare delivery whilst reducing costs and assessing the latest medical and management technologies for improving patient care.

The event, organised by Maarefah Management and supported by the Executive Board of Health Ministers’ Council for GCC States, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), will also bring together all healthcare stakeholders including healthcare leaders from health authorities, providers from the government and private sector, public policy makers and investors.

Organisers said the event will see international, regional and local experts in the healthcare sector discussing the most important topics in this filed, such as improving quality and patient care through innovative leadership strategies; the achievements, challenges and future directions in Healthcare education; bridging the gap between operations and clinical excellence to improve patient experience; implementing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and learning practical lessons for implementing this system; establishing a culture for innovation and improving bottom line results; evaluating the benefits of creating specialisation centres and how can specialised centres attract medical tourists to the region.

The congress features a variety of interactive workshops and panel discussions covering the most recent innovations for improving the healthcare sector and patient care.

Moreover, the experts will present a number of the latest healthcare case studies on implementing and developing a successful EMR project, the use of data automation to manage clinical quality, the physician clinical dashboard, chronic kidney disease innovation at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA)’s hospitals, the electronic infection control solution and its impact on a hospital’s activities.
