Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, was announced as the winner of Gulf Aluminium Council (GAC)’s Health and Safety Award for 2022 at the Gulf Aluminium Dinner that was held on 02 November 2022 at the Ritz Carlton, Bahrain.
The Award was presented by Alba Chairman of the Board Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, the Patron of the Dinner, to Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali during the event.
Commenting on this occasion, Alba Chairman of the Board Shaikh Daij stated:
“It takes leadership to improve Safety. I take the opportunity to thank our CEO and the Management team for going the extra mile to ensure Safety is a top priority.
We are pleased to be the recipient of GAC’s Health & Safety Award and equally proud to be setting the benchmark for our peers and colleagues in the industry to make Health and Safety a priority.”
Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali added:

Held annually, the GAC Awards recognise GCC aluminium smelters and downstream companies implementing best practices in various aspects such as Health and Safety, Environment and Community Service.
