Families, friends, and couples have endless ways to stay busy this summer with Movie Magic, brought to you by Dubai Summer Surprises(DSS) 2024 at Roxy Cinemas. Film-themed entertainment promises endless entertainment for all ages at Roxy Cinemas across Dubai this summer, with family fun, kids’ activities, and all the best new and classic blockbusters on the big screen for two whole months.
A key highlight of DSS 2024 organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the two-month celebrations at Roxy Cinemas offer something new and exciting every day, from premieres, special screenings and experiences, to celebrity visits, activations, raffles, live events, unexpected surprises, and much more. Movie lovers can also take advantage of delicious combo offers on tickets and delectable cinema snacks.
FAMILY FRIENDLY MOVIES
Throughout July and August, kids have endless ways to stay entertained with a curated line-up of delightful family-friendly movies at Roxy Cinemas. The schedule not only includes newly released 2024 films, but also features blockbusters from 2023 and old classics. Providing families with the best value experiences this summer, the movies can be enjoyed as part of a special Roxy Cinemas package that includes a ticket, beverage, and unlimited popcorn.
MAMA’S MOVIE CLUB
Roxy Cinemas is welcoming mums and their little ones for a specially curated cinema experience. Every Monday until 26 August, Modesh and Dana’s Mama’s Movie Club provides the perfect place for mums with little kids to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon in a relaxing, baby-friendly environment. The screenings are for the mothers to enjoy, while the environment is specially designed for the little ones with dimmed lights and reduced volume levels. To help mums make the most of their morning, the Platinum ticket package includes a nutritious breakfast and a goodie bag.
LADIES NIGHT
The first of its kind to launch in the UAE, Ladies Night at Roxy Cinemas in partnership with RITUALS brings a whole new meaning to girls’ night out. On 16 July and 13 August, ladies are invited to use the Roxy Cinema VIP Lounge for an hour before the movie begins, where they can catch-up over free flowing mocktails before making their way into the Platinum cinema to watch a specially picked girls’ night film. All seats fully recline and come with blankets, helping ladies truly to relax as they take their pick from gourmet food and drinks throughout the screening. To round off the special evening, all guests will be treated to a goodie bag packed with wellness must-haves from RITUALS. Ladies and their friends can experience this luxurious cinema adventure every month in Roxy Cinemas at Dubai Hills Mall, City Walk, and The Beach, JBR.
MOVIE PREMIERES
During the month of July, Roxy Xtreme, home of the largest screen in the region, located at Dubai Hills Mall, will host the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere. In addition to receiving an exclusive greeting from the key talent of the movie, fans can also relive their favourite movie moments by keeping an eye out for themed stunts at key locations in Dubai including Burj Al Arab. A six-hour triple feature movie marathon leading up to the first midnight screening of Deadpool and Wolverine will get hardcore fans in the mood for the premiere, with Red Bull providing the mocktails and a DJ for the ultimate countdown experience. Further bringing the movie to life, cosplay events will offer fans the chance to dress up as their favourite Deadpool and Wolverine characters for the chance to win exciting prizes, while exclusive movie merchandise will also be up for grabs. Ticket holders will also have an exciting chance to win a trip to Disneyland in Orlando in a grand draw.
Roxy Cinemas in Dubai Hills Mall will open its doors for the regional premiere of Ex Mirati in July, with film star Mohamed Henedi hosting an exciting meet-and-greet event in celebration of the movie launch and fans receiving an exclusive greeting from the key talent of the movie.
Meanwhile, the cast of Dodi will greet fans in July at Roxy Xtreme in Dubai Hills Mall. Fans can look out for Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad who will perform live at the event, joined by Egyptian TV and film stars Donia Samir Ghanem and Mohamed Mamdouh.
Later in August, a special Indian premiere awaits all Bollywood fans. Full details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
ROXY XTREME LIVE
For the ultimate cinema experience, fans can also witness hilarious stand-up comedy acts and enthralling live magicians at Roxy Xtreme in Dubai Hills Mall, hosted throughout July and August. Stay tuned for announcements on the line-up.
KIDS ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT
Every day there is something new and different to discover at Roxy Cinemas. From 1-14 July, young movie fans can transform into their favourite characters at special face painting stations across cinemas. From 15 to 31 July, little artists can practise their skills at exciting drawing workshops. From 1-15 August, all youngsters are invited to discover their inner chef by making their own pizza in fun culinary workshops. LEGO® fans can immerse themselves in a dedicated LEGO® Zone from 16 August to 1 September.

Throughout July, cinema fans can look forward to extra special surprises as part of the Lucky Seats campaign at Roxy Cinemas.
