DEWA records remarkable progress on water distribution pipelines project in Hatta

 Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has achieved remarkable progress on its water distribution pipelines in Hatta as part of its relentless efforts to position Dubai as a leader in the region and strengthen its role as a global hub for trade, business and tourism. DEWA has implemented 25km (78% per cent of the total length) at a total cost of AED30 million. The project will see the extension of Hatta’s water distribution pipelines between 450 and 100 mm in diameter.

“The framework for DEWA ‘s strategic plan outlines its goal to increase efficiency and reliability of the water systems to meet the growing demand and increased water flow volumes, catering to the rapid growth of the various areas of Dubai. DEWA is currently implementing development projects, particularly in infrastructure, to achieve the expectations of its customers to the highest standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and safety,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director ‘&’ CEO of DEWA .

“The main objective of the project is to connect the water supply to the entire population of Hatta and increase the quantity of water flow based on the importance of its strategic location, and meeting the rapid growth in the city, enabling the Emirate to consolidate its position as a leader in promoting sustainable development. DEWA will initiate the extension of the water distribution networks in diameters, ranging from 450 to 100 mm, bringing the total length of lines in Hatta to 32 km,” added Al Tayer.

“The implementation of the project will be in accordance with the outlined programme and is expected to be completed within 4 months,” concluded Al Tayer.
