Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Zayed Bin Saqr Al Nahyan, Wife of the Ruler of Ajman, and Head of the Umm Al Moumineen Association, the Association, in collaboration with the University of Dubai (UD), has organised the first student forum, entitled: “Self-development of students”.

Attended by 500 female and male students from high schools registered under Ajman Education Zone, the event underlined the University and Association’s commitment to achieve their joint objectives with regard to community development, through programmes that were aimed at developing and empowering the intellectual and cultural skills of the population. It also reflected both parties’ concerted efforts and ongoing cooperation to support the development of cultural awareness among the younger generation, as well as encouraging them to aspire for the highest levels of education.

Dr. Eesa Bastaki, President, University of Dubai, indicated that the University’s cooperation with the Umm Al Moumineen Association in Ajman is an essential part of a wider plan to cooperate with a large number of community institutions. He added that it reflects the University’s commitment to enhance cognitive cooperation at all levels and across all the emirates, pointing out that academic cooperation is considered the highest levels of knowledge cooperation among societies.

Rajaa Al Noman, Vice President of the Umm Al Moumineen Association, stated that the ‘Self-development of students’ forum, aimed at promoting communal and national cooperation between the Association and the University of Dubai, supported the strategic objectives of the Association. She stressed that the event also helped to provide the right guidance to high school students in Ajman on how to achieve academic success and highlighted the importance of pursuing a university education.

The forum was divided into two sessions, the first session for 150 male students and the second for 350 female students, while teachers and http://www.staging.businesstoday.me/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/sample10.jpgistrators from the University of Dubai presented three workshops on how to achieve a smooth transition from school years to higher education, and how students can choose courses of study.

The forum also included self-development and advancement related topics, and tips on how to remain confident ahead of examinations. Participants in the forum also took part in competitions, offering them the chance to win tablet PCs. In addition, the first 100 students to be enrolled at the University of Dubai via the forum have been offered 25% discount on tuition fees, while the second 100 students are entitled to 20% discount.
