Design Infinity and M+N Architecture supported the Provis and Khidmah headquarters in achieving world’s 4th highest rating for LEED Platinum Certification under the LEED v4 Interior Design and Construction: Commercial Interiors rating system with a total of 90 points.

The LEED Certification was presented to Provis and Khidmah by U.S. Green Building Council in mid-February. Design Infinity was responsible for the fit-out of the new headquarters office of Provis and Khidmah while M+N Architecture was the interior design consultant for the project. Design Infinity completed a four month fit-out for the Provis and Khidmah headquarters which was inaugurated in September last year. After completion of the project, Design Infinity and M+N Architecture collectively worked on submitting documentation for achieving LEED certification on behalf of their clients, Khidmah and Provis.

Musharaf Zammer, branch manager at Design Infinity commented, “We are happy to have partnered with M+N Architecture on the building of such an eco-friendly project. The project has achieved the 2nd highest points in the GCC and the 4th highest in the world. This project has a number of unique characteristics– it maximises natural light, features waterless urinals, diverts waste away from landfill during construction and has used recycled materials.”

“The main challenge of the project was to meet a requirement for 35% natural light. We had to modify slabs, walls and enhance the office’s façade to achieve this. This facilitated large glazed windows to be installed to allow light to flood into the office. Various sized concrete slabs were also removed to create skylight domes above the office.” added Mahen Rodrigo, project manager of Design Infinity.

Lorenzo Zoli, managing director of M+N Architecture, stated: “We are very happy with the final outcome of the project and to see that the end users are really enjoying the new working environment at Provis and Khidmah HQs. We have proved our capabilities in creating an outstanding sustainable corporate office within a tight timeframe and a pre-set budget. From a LEED perspective, the client’s initial target was to achieve Gold Certification. However, being located in an already existing sustainable venue made it easy as the infrastructure of a Green Building project already existed and with the support of our sustainability consultant (Milieu) and MEP consultants (Accolade), we are proud to have achieved LEED Platinum certification, one of the first projects to acquire the certification under ID+C V4.1 locally and regionally.”
