PIF invites global firms to bid on a consultancy contract for North Riyadh’s CBD, featuring the world’s tallest tower as part of Saudi Vision 2030

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has officially invited global firms to submit bids for a consultancy contract to develop a groundbreaking new Central Business District (CBD) in North Riyadh. At the heart of this project will be the world’s tallest tower, standing at 2 kilometres high. The submission deadline has been extended to 20th March 2025, attracting significant interest from leading engineering and consultancy firms.

North Pole – Riyadh’s New Economic Hub

Spanning an impressive 306 square kilometres, this futuristic district will be a fully integrated city, combining residential, commercial, and industrial zones alongside entertainment centres, parks, educational institutions, and medical facilities. North Pole is a key element of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to position Riyadh as a global business hub.

Rise Tower – The Iconic 2-Kilometre Landmark & Global Tourist Attraction

The Rise Tower will break records to become the tallest building in the world. Standing at 2 kilometres tall, it will be twice the height of the current tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. With an estimated construction cost of $5 billion, this architectural marvel, designed by Foster + Partners, will serve as a global destination for both tourism and business.

In addition to offering breathtaking panoramic views from its observation decks, the tower will house luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, and futuristic experiences, allowing visitors to enjoy the city in ways never before possible.

Strategically located near Expo 2030 and the New Murabba, the district will play a pivotal role in Riyadh’s transformation into a must-visit global destination.

Smart & Sustainable Features of “North Pole”

True to its vision as a modern, interconnected city, North Pole will feature advanced transportation infrastructure, including a high-speed metro system and self-driving vehicles, ensuring seamless connectivity for both residents and visitors. The innovative urban design will emphasise vertical living, creating a dynamic city with world-class facilities. Sustainability will be a cornerstone of the development, with the city powered by renewable energy sources and integrated with green spaces.

This record-breaking project will redefine the skyline and set the stage for the future of skyscraper innovation and sustainable urban planning.
