FCC Construcción in a joint venture with Almabani General Contractors has commenced construction of the Third Runway at King Salman International Airport (KSIA). This milestone marks a significant advancement in the airport’s airfield development program and reflects progress toward expanding operational capacity at KSIA.

The third runway represents a milestone within the King Salman International Airport Master Plan. Designed in harmony with Riyadh’s prevailing wind conditions, it aims to enhance the safety, efficiency, and scalability of aircraft operations under all weather and traffic scenarios. Once completed, the runway is expected to increase the airport’s movement capacity from 65 to 85 aircraft per hour. The 4,200-meter-long runway will feature multiple access taxiways to support smoother aircraft flow and optimized airfield performance.

Speaking on this milestone, Mr Joseph Daher, CEO of Almabani General Contractors, stated: “We are proud to be part of this important development and to contribute to the realization of the King Salman International Airport Master Plan. Our teams, alongside our partners, are committed to delivering world-class infrastructure that meets the highest technical and operational standards.
