EBS reinforces growth plans in Kuwait

Emirates Building Systems, EBS, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has reinforced its commitment to growth in Kuwait, with a strong focus on oil and gas, industrial and commercial projects in the country.

This has been emphasised by its strong participation in The Big 5 Kuwait 2014, the leading building and construction trade exhibition currently under way in Kuwait. The exhibition, which runs till September 24th at the Kuwait International Fair, hosts 300-plus exhibitors from over 20 countries.

As part of its showcase, EBS is displaying its range of Hot Rolled and Pre-Engineered building structures for offices, residences, high-rise towers as well as commercial, institutional and industrial buildings, power and desalination plants, besides various structures targeting the oil and gas industry.

In 2014, EBS was an active player in the Kuwait market, particularly in the oil and gas, commercial and industrial sectors, and has been involved with a number of strategic projects on tender, such as Saving and Credit Bank of Kuwait Headquarters, Kuwait Institute for Science and Technology, New Al-Jahra Hospital, Sulfur Handling Facility, Kuwait International Airport’s New Passenger Terminal 2, Al Kout Mall, Kuwait Oil Company pipeline and Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s new refinery among others.

According to a recent industry report, construction contracts in Kuwait are set to reach US$17.5 billion by the end of 2014, compared to $9.8 billion in 2011. These include a number of major infrastructure projects across the country, which are under various stages of planning and construction.

“Over the years, Emirates Building Systems has set an unparalleled track record across Kuwait and the wider Gulf, and we have a number of landmark projects in our portfolio. The Big 5 Kuwait offers the ideal opportunity to showcase our projects in Kuwait to industry experts and business partners. We are witnessing promising trends in the construction industry across Kuwait and the GCC, and this exhibition offers us a chance to accelerate our growth,” said Samir Akra, General Manager of EBS.
