Why the UAE’s Real Estate Sector Must Think Like Tech?

The real estate sector is under pressure—and that’s a good thing.

Across the UAE, we’re witnessing record-breaking demand, sophisticated buyer behaviour, and evolving investor expectations. But let’s be clear: we can’t keep building the way we did ten years ago and expect to lead tomorrow.

Why the UAE’s Real Estate Sector Must Think Like Tech?
Andrei Charapenak, CEO of Major Developers

It’s time we start thinking like the tech industry. In technology, progress is measured in version updates. In property, it’s still often measured in square footage. That has to change. As developers, we must move faster, listen better, and adapt in real time. This means building products—not just buildings.

At Major Developers, we’ve made this pivot deliberately. From concept to customer handover, our developments are being treated as living systems—data-informed, user-responsive, and constantly improving. Whether it’s integrated smart-home systems, AI-powered energy management, or innovative modular designs, we are rethinking what ‘real estate development’ really means.

But this is not about gadgets or gimmicks. It’s about solving for value—faster, smarter, and more sustainably.

The future belongs to agile developers. Those who treat their master plans not as static blueprints, but as dynamic ecosystems. Those who embed user experience into the design, anticipate regulatory shifts, and prioritize operational efficiency from day one.

The UAE is ready for this shift. The market appetite is here. The talent is here. What’s needed now is developer discipline—and the will to operate like startups, not legacy institutions. At Major Developers, we’re building with that future in mind!
