Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Advisor Turki Alalshikh stated that the idea of holding the Arabian Music Conference came in response to the needs of the artistic landscape in the Arab world. He described the event as a platform for studying musical styles.
Alalshikh emphasized the importance of coordination and integration among all parties involved in musical work to ensure the documentation and recording of Eastern vocal maqams in accordance with a unified scientific methodology.
The conference is dedicated to integrating Arab musical identity with academic approaches, aiming to build a comprehensive Arabic reference for maqams and rhythms while documenting musical arts. This effort seeks to strengthen the presence of Arabic music within a scientific framework.
