In today’s highly competitive market, where businesses strive to gain a competitive edge and attract customers, setting the right prices for their services can be a daunting task for business owners. Recognising the difficulties faced by businesses in this aspect, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in Qatar has taken a proactive step by introducing a comprehensive Price Evaluation System.

The Price Evaluation and Follow-up System serves as a valuable tool for businesses, helping them navigate the complexities of pricing in a dynamic market. Its primary objective is to make the process of registering, modifying, and managing prices as simple as possible and thereby ensure that their pricing strategies are transparent, accurate, and fair, encouraging a healthier market environment.

The Price Evaluation and follow-up System offers the following 3 services:

  1. Registration of Services Price List: The Price Evaluation and Follow-up System provides a user-friendly service that enables business owners to register their service price lists. This feature involves a simple process:
  • Business owners need to complete the form provided by the system
  • Attach the full list of the services they offer
  • The submitted data and accompanying files are then carefully reviewed for validity before being uploaded into the system

2. Adding or Removing Items from the Service Price List: This service grants business owners the flexibility to adjust their service price lists by adding or removing items. The primary features of this service include:

  • Business owners can register new service prices as needed
  • They can add items to their existing list, ensuring the validity and accuracy of the data
  • Alternatively, they can choose specific items to be deleted from the list

3. Modifying the Prices of Service Items: The Price Evaluation and Follow-up System enables business owners to seek price modifications for their services. This service facilitates the following:

  • Business owners can submit requests for increasing or decreasing the prices of their services
  • The system validates the accuracy of the submitted data and the required attachments
  • Business owners can precisely specify the items for which price adjustments are required

Terms of Usage

The Price Evaluation and Follow-up System has specific requirements and criteria for using its services effectively. These terms include:

  • Users must engage in specific commercial activities in the targeted service sectors
  • The applicant must be the relevant person listed in the commercial register
  • The commercial licence used for the application must be valid
  • It is mandatory to complete the approved form and upload the necessary data accurately
  • The actual price list used in the business must be photographed and uploaded in high quality

Targeted Service Sectors and Commercial Activities

The Price Evaluation and Follow-up System caters to various service sectors and their corresponding commercial activities. The targeted sectors currently include:

  1. Men’s and Women’s Salons
  2. Coffee Shops
  3. Cafeterias
  4. Restaurants
  5. Driving Schools
  6. Gyms
  7. Launderettes
  8. Tailors
  9. Delivery Services Using Platforms
  10. Parking Services
  11. Cinemas
  12. Car Washes
  13. Display and Marketing Services at Outlets Selling Goods
  14. Offices for Domestic Labor Services

The Price Evaluation and follow-up System provides a streamlined approach for business owners to effectively manage and control service prices. By utilising this system, business owners can register their price lists, add, or remove items as needed, and request price modifications as and when required.

This system promotes fairness, accuracy, and transparency in pricing, benefiting both businesses and consumers. By implementing this system, businesses can ensure that their pricing strategies align with market demands and industry standards, ultimately enhancing their competitiveness in the market.
