HE Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Commerce said that the logistics sector is of great importance for the completion of large projects, and boost the state’s economy .
HE the Minister was speaking on the sidelines of a workshop on the future of the logistics sector in Qatar, organized by the Ministry to discuss the future of the sector. HE the Minister thanked the working team and the parties participating in the workshop who have sought to reach a clear vision for the state requirements in the logistics sector. HE the Minister added that the working group is developing the final concept in order to find urgent solutions to the logistics sector in the state.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Trade and attended by about 55 people representing companies. It aims to prepare a comprehensive study of the requirements of the logistics sector, including policies of the partnership between the government and national companies and means of implementing these policies, through dialogue with the relevant authorities to explore ways to develop the logistics sector.
The working team for the preparation of a study of the state requirements in the logistics sector was headed by the Ministry of Economy and Trade and membership of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Municipality and Urban Planning, Transport Works Authority, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (Qatar 2022), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Qatar.
