.E. Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group, called upon young Emirati entrepreneurs to develop a positive trading mentality and to mix with the right set of people who have good investment ideas and are successful in the business world as he also placed the responsibility on the first generation of Dubai traders to share their experiences and knowledge with the younger generation of Emirati entrepreneurs.

Speaking during a recent meeting hosted at his Ramadan Majlis, H.E. Al Habtoor urged the budding entrepreneurs to adopt a systematic lifestyle and a commitment and love to work which he said are the foundations of a successful life and entrepreneurial career.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry including H.E. Hesham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice-Chairman, Dubai Chamber, H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai and members of the newly-founded Tejar Dubai Youth Council, which started functioning recently under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber with the support of Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme.

Lauding the encouragement and support of the late Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, for the success of the first generation of entrepreneurs, H.E. Al Habtoor stressed on the young entrepreneurs to choose commercial projects that they are comfortable with and to thoroughly study the investment choices before setting up a business.

“It’s always good to focus on business areas and disciplines that one is familiar with rather than to take on unfamiliar projects which offer minimal possibility of success,” he said adding that the key to success is to lead a balanced lifestyle by concentrating on your work while giving the best of your time to your family.

On his part, H.E. Hesham Al Shirawi lauded the contribution of the first generation of entrepreneurs to the economic growth of Dubai while stressing on the Chamber’s unprecedented support to young Emiratis on whom rests the future growth of the emirate.

“This visit will definitely help the budding entrepreneurs to learn from the rich knowledge of the first generation of entrepreneurs like H.E. Al Habtoor and to carve a strong entrepreneurial career for themselves,” he said.

H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber said that the Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme launched by Dubai Chamber to help young Emiratis realise their dreams of setting up a business, supports the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which emphasises that entrepreneurship is the shortest route to a bright future.

H.E Buamim further stressed that the newly-established Tejar Dubai Youth Council will serve as a platform to unite the voice of the young entrepreneurs while providing them the opportunity to play an active role in the emirate’s economic growth as well as to better interact with the private and public sectors and exchange experiences and knowledge and to discuss ways of promoting economic activities in the emirate.

The newly-formed Tejar Dubai Youth Council, which has a distinguished membership of 20 young Emirati entrepreneurs operating in a wide spectrum of the emirate’s economic sectors, will help unify the voice of the national entrepreneurs while helping them to grow and develop under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber. The Council was launched with the support of Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme, a Dubai Chamber initiative, whose aim is to promote entrepreneurship among young Emiratis.
