Minister of Economy and Planning, Dr. Mohamed bin Suleiman Al-Jasser headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation participating in the special summit of Group of 77 plus China, held in the city of Santa Cruz in Bolivia, on June 14-15, 2014 under the slogan “Towards a new world order for living well.”
The Summit was opened by President Evo Morales of the State of Bolivia to celebrate the 50th anniversary of forming the Group of 77 plus China on June 15 1964.
It was attended by the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, and the participation of heads of State, Governments, Ministers and representatives of 133 member States of G77 plus China.
In his speech before the summit, Dr. Al-Jasser conveys greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to President of Bolivia, whose country holds the current session of the group, and congratulated him as well as the group’s member States on this anniversary, which represented the recovery of the principles on which G77 plus China has been established, its struggle in achieving equality in the world, economic and social order, and the legitimate requirements of developing countries.
He also stressed the Kingdom’ strong belief for the need for concerted international efforts to achieve quantum leaps in the lives of people, reviewing the tireless efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to play its leading role in achieving the global economic stability and development work.
