training 3 - CopyThe Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, has been organising regular Skills Workshops for both entrepreneurship and career development all this year for young Qataris.  Over 600 young people attended the workshops and benefitted from the training and guidance delivered on different aspects of business and personal development.

The workshops kicked off with ‘Financing Your Business’  in January given by business expert Mohammed Al Jufairi business expert, followed by ‘Take your business online’ in February from computer expert Mufeed Ahmed, underlining the need to showcase businesses on the internet in order to succeed. In the same month, Mahmoud Khater, leadership and human development expert, stressed the ‘Power of LinkedIn’ and the importance of personal branding, encouraging participants to join the 347 million strong membership to further their career or business.

Reem Al-Sowaidi, Manager of the Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, said: “At Bedaya we aim to offer a complete programme of workshops and training sessions to help young people starting their own business and those contemplating a career to develop their abilities and talents for their life ahead.  The importance of running these workshops is to develop the skills of young people in the country.  The workshops also link the participants with mentors from the community such as self-made successful entrepreneurs serving as role models to help young people generate business ideas and support them in developing these ideas into actual businesses.”

She added: “With the training programmes we offer, we aim to give young Qataris the best chance to succeed in life in whatever direction they may choose, whether as an entrepreneur running their own business or following their chosen career path.”
