The announcement was made ahead of the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, scheduled for January 9 to 11, 2026, under the theme “Content for Good.”

Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, the 1 Billion Followers Summit is the world’s largest event dedicated to the content creation economy. The Accelerator programme aims to identify, incubate, and empower promising creator-led startups by equipping them with essential skills, mentorship, and networking opportunities needed to scale sustainably.

The programme attracted a diverse group of participants, including individual creators, business platforms, and emerging startups specializing in areas such as Creator IP, AI Creator solutions, monetisation, media, gaming, wellness, and technology. These innovators are redefining the way creators, brands, and audiences connect and grow in the digital economy.

Khadija Hussain, Executive Director of Government Communication at the UAE Government Media Office and Deputy CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, highlighted the significance of the overwhelming response. She stated that the programme reflects the UAE’s growing stature as a global hub for purposeful content creation and innovation, providing an unprecedented opportunity for creators and startups to transform their ideas into sustainable ventures.

“The Creators Ventures Accelerator programme serves as an interactive platform that brings creativity and innovation together in a unified ecosystem,” Hussain said. “It reinforces content creation as a vital sector of the new economy, giving participants a real chance to become influential business leaders.”

Mei Chel Tan, Managing Partner at 500 Global, underscored the importance of the creator economy in driving global social and commercial outcomes. She expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Creators HQ, emphasizing their commitment to empowering content creators and technologies to build scalable, impactful businesses.

Out of the total 1,131 applications, 609 met the participation criteria and advanced to the next phase, including 347 content creators from over 70 countries. India led the top five countries represented, followed by Egypt, the USA, the UK, and Syria.
