During the chat, the industry leader shared his valuable insights on a variety of topics ranging from Banking, Macro Economics to UAE Taxation and Financial Regulations. Suresh Kumar, ex-CEO of Emirates NBD Group, is widely respected in the UAE banking circles and is currently the chairman of IBPC Dubai. While commenting on the global banking crisis, Suresh Kumar asserted that UAE banks are financially sound and have the blessings of the rulers. He believes that opportunities lie buried in the various plans published by the government and businessmen must study them for guidance. He also views the modernization of KSA as one of the bigger opportunities in the region. His personal views on taxation were aligned with that of the UAE government which has put the minimum burden of 9% with a strict eye on compliance.
