Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Sameer Abdulla Nass, has lauded the distinguished Bahrain-Thai relations, especially in the economic field.

He indicated that BCCI is looking forward to increasing the volume of bilateral trade through launching joint projects, and exchanging visits between economic delegations, especially in light of the promising investment opportunities offered by the two friendly countries.

Nass was speaking while receiving here today the Thai Ambassador to Bahrain, Piyapak Sricharoen, with whom he reviewed a number of proposals to raise the volume of trade between Bahrain and Thailand.

These include the exchange of trade visits, holding bilateral meetings to discuss ways to remove obstacles, and launching joint economic activities to introduce and promote investment opportunities available in the two friendly countries, especially in the development of the private health sector, medical tourism, and medicine-manufacturing companies, he said, highlighting the investment atmosphere in the Kingdom and the numerous incentives and facilities granted to investors.

He indicated that BCCI, as representative of the private sector in the kingdom, is fully ready to discuss opportunities for commercial partnership and cooperation with Thailand, as well as for attracting investments and exchanging expertise in order to bring about more achievements for the national economy.

He also underlined BCCI’s desire to develop bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, investment, trade and tourism fields to achieve the common aspirations, given the importance of the existing promising opportunities offered by the kingdom across various sectors.

BCCI chief welcomed all initiatives aimed at boosting the Bahraini-Thai economic relations, and all steps taken to upgrade cooperation between business owners in the two friendly countries, commending the key role played by Ambassador Piyapak Sricharoen in this regard.

The Thai envoy expressed his pride in the friendly relations between and Thailand, which, he said, contributes to strengthening bilateral cooperation and increasing the volume of bilateral trade.

He affirmed his support for all efforts aimed at enhancing bilateral trade, encouraging communication between businessmen of the two countries and availing of the opportunities offered by the two kingdoms, which will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties at all levels and benefiting the two countries and their peoples.
