The H Dubai’s Mandara Spa, a haven of relaxation and tranquility, wants you to look after your skin this Summer. The incredible spa, which is proud to be an advocate of promoting health and wellness, has compiled some tips and tricks for keeping skin hydrated. With the weather heating up, skin dehydration can be a common concern. Mandara Spa encourages everyone to stay hydrated and nourished during this time, and offers advice on how to do so.

Drink Lots of Water

Mandara Spa recommends drinking lots of water, to ensure that the body is nourished with fluids from within. It is important to consume at least 3 litres of water a day and reduce the consumption of sodas, sweetened beverages, and caffeine. To add to this, you should be consuming foods that are rich in antioxidants to aid in the skin’s daily repair, hydration, and energy retention.

Keep your skin Moisturised

In addition, re-applying moisturiser, lotion, and lip balm is essential to avoid dryness. Double cleansing is also recommended to remove excess oil and the application of a serum or a face mask will restore the skin’s firmness and lock in hydration for the long run. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided, and sunscreen should be used daily, whether indoors or outdoors, to protect the skin barrier from UV rays that can cause damage and lead to dry and irritated skin. Proper sleep and rest is also important for a much-needed energy boost, and to help you unwind and meditate.

Use DIY Face Masks

For those who prefer home remedies or DIY face masks, Mandara Spa suggests using a facial sheet mask after cleansing and toning to give the skin an extra boost of hydration before applying some skincare products. For dry skin, a moisturiser should be used every day, with a richer or heavier one at night to support the skin barrier and lock in moisture. Avocado masks are an easy to make favourite for combating dehydrated skin. Mix a quarter of an avocado with 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt, apply on your skin, leave for 15 minutes and remove with warm water.

Get a Treatment at Mandara Spa

Mandara Spa uses a range of natural and rejuvenating ingredients in its skincare products and treatments, which helps improve moisture retention, encourages cell regeneration, and does not negatively affect the immune system. The spa recommends looking for skincare products that contain humectants, emollients, and occlusives. Hyaluronic acid is also a well-known ingredient to lock in moisture content.

Mandara Spa offers a range of Pure Nature Facial treatments, which includes the use of freshly prepared ingredients, some in combination with White Clay for refreshing face masks. Fresh yoghurt, cucumber, or carrot conditioners are used to moisturise the skin in a range of Traditional Body Scrubs: Coconut, Coffee, Boreh, and Lulur.

For those looking for specific treatments or services that are particularly effective for hydrating the skin during Summer need to look no further as Mandara Spa has a range of exclusive treatments including a Yoghurt and Honey Cleanser, Carrot Cucumber Toner, Sugar Scrub, White Clay with Green Tea and Tomato, and much more. The incredible spa partners with the international brand ELEMIS from the UK, offering a wide range of superb skincare options and treatments that are perfectly tailored to give you the boost and vitality you need.
